The mat is amazing. We do a lot of weight lifting in our basement which has a ceramic tile floor, and this mat provides enough cushioning for everything! We will be purchasing more to cover more area :)

Great Mat

I wish I’d found this sooner. As advertised, it’s heavy duty enough it stays put as my 200+ lbs body jumps around doing cardio and HIIT exercises (on stick-on vinyl flooring). But it’s got good cushioning that’s really nice. I like the extra width from the mats I was using. The Velcro straps that come with it are a life saver, as I have to fit the rolled up mat into a small closet. I got the 6’ x 4’ mat since my apartment is tiny and it suits me fine.

Worthwhile Purchase

The Yo Gorilla Mat has enhanced my home workout experience and performance. I bought the 7x 5 mat, which I find is large enough to accommodate multi-dimensional HIIT moves such as bear crawls with jacks or lateral bounds and burpees. It's also smalll enough that it only takes up a quarter of my living room space.

The rubber material is durable and comfortable and prevents against slippage. I feel confident doing HIIT exercises such as burpees and dumbbell weight exercises such as squat thrusters, lunges, one legged etc. on the mat. I also enjoy sitting or kneeling abdominal and mobility exercises on the mat. Finally, it's relatively easy to fold up and put away each day, at least for its durability and size. I furthermore enjoy unfolding and folding it every day because it transforms my living room into a gym. It's my little workout oasis and because I like the material, I get excited to utilize the mat and begin my workouts.

I gave it four stars for two reasons. First, it does not absorb sweat very well and therefore I can slip on wet spots when I'm not careful. (to prevent against this problem, I have begun wiping my face off with a towel more frequently). Second, the mat does get marked up with surface scratches pretty quickly, especially if you use weights on it. This is not a big deal to me because the mat is for working out and is not an interior design statement, but still something worth noting.

All in all, I am very satisfied with my purchase. I love the feel of the mat and surface area of the mat. It's worlds better than a yoga mat in terms of durability and comfortability.
