I did a TON of research looking for a mat to go underneath our new 200-pound treadmill. I wanted one that was high quality, nontoxic with no odor and had the recommended specs to support exercise equipment. It is not easy finding a mat having all these qualities. Finally, I discovered the Yo Gorilla company. But I was a little skeptical since there are so many brands of mats on the market being promoted in one way or another. I ended up purchasing their Premium Large 7’ x 4’ x 8mm Exercise Mat. Believe me, it is FANTASTIC in every way! No smell, thick and easily unrolled into a flat position. It is a little more expensive than others, but it is worth every penny, and long term, I am sure it will prove to be a bargain because it will last! As the phrase goes, you get what you pay for. I did not want to buy a low-cost mat and then replace it after it ripped or was faulty in another way. I do not necessarily advise doing what I did, but after our 200-pound treadmill was on our new mat, I wanted it further away from our bedroom wall. So, instead of moving the treadmill off the mat to make the adjustment, which would have been cumbersome, I instead carefully but firmly grabbed the side of the mat with both hands and slowly moved it a few more inches with the treadmill on top of it. I was fearful that it would tear. But it did not! This mat looks great, does not smell, and feels nice and cushy when we step off our treadmill on to the 10” of mat bordering it. Thank you, Yo Gorilla, for your integrity and for offering such a high-quality product. Next time I need any kind of mat, I won’t have to do a lot of research. I will be purchasing it from Yo Gorilla.

First, I am not a review-writing type of guy. But this is an exceptional product. I have a very robust home gym in my basement, but it has lacked flooring. I didn't want to hire flooring specialists, because we live pretty remotely. I decided to do the floor in horse-stall mats, as is typical in home gyms. But the mats were so toxic and outgassing so much, we had to take them out. After searching endlessly for something that wouldn't be poisonous to train on, I landed on Gorilla mats. I ordered a 6'x15', and it came SO fast. It's large enough that it doesn't move on the floor, is abrasian resistant enough for kettlebells and barbells, and doesn't smell for more than a few minutes after unrolling it (even then it was a very faint odor). I plan to buy a few more and fill the entire room with them, but for now it's a great size for all my workouts. I can't recommend this mat enough.

The mat is amazing. We do a lot of weight lifting in our basement which has a ceramic tile floor, and this mat provides enough cushioning for everything! We will be purchasing more to cover more area :)

Great quality mat, perfect size for a variety of workouts including HIIT, strength training, and core work. I even put it under my yoga mat to add extra cushion. Feels durable and premium.

I use my Gorilla Mat in front of my Tonal home gym, and it couldn't be more perfect. I ordered the Midnight Blue, I believe. Perfect! Love the color rather than having black. You know what tells me it is quality? I never think about it. I don't look at it with regret. I don't experience any kind of grip sensation that I don't like. It's just like I said. Perfect!

I love my new gorilla mat! I looked everywhere to find a large mat for my newly remodeled home workout room. This is perfect!

This is such nice mat, it is working well to protect my carpet when I work out. I was surprised how heavy the mat is when I roll it up and stow it for the day; to me this indicates a solid mat

I wish I’d found this sooner. As advertised, it’s heavy duty enough it stays put as my 200+ lbs body jumps around doing cardio and HIIT exercises (on stick-on vinyl flooring). But it’s got good cushioning that’s really nice. I like the extra width from the mats I was using. The Velcro straps that come with it are a life saver, as I have to fit the rolled up mat into a small closet. I got the 6’ x 4’ mat since my apartment is tiny and it suits me fine.

I have a 6x4, but the 7x5 gives me more room.

This has been a great purchase for me. Helps soften the noise of my workouts since I have hardwood floors while also providing very slight cushion (I work out barefoot). This is also kitty scratch proof which I am VERY happy about. Only bummer was one of the straps used for rolling up/storing the mat broke like 1 week in.

I'm so glad I didn't mess around with cheap mats and chose to spend wisely on this excellent product. Well worth it, even a bargain given how good it is. The quality is apparent immediately and after two weeks of sweaty workouts I'm even more impressed. Zero scent, unrolled flat with no curling at edges and stays flat again even after repeated re-rollings. Kudos also to the clever and sustainable packaging - it ships in a reusable bag rather than a box.

We love the mat! It did have a small odor upon opening but completely dissipated after a day. It's a perfect size and texture!

The mat is comfortable and seems sturdy. The size of it is perfect for my needs.

I wanted a larger mat so I went from a yoga size to a 7 X 4. The quality is excellent and it feels good to stand/work out on. It IS heavy and def not something I quickly "roll up and stash away."
